A Day In the Life

“Lab coat thrown across the room.  Goggle-lines remain on my face, but the heaviness of photoshoot makeup is bound to cover it anyway.

✓  Post-worthy outfit
✓  Weather-friendly hair
✓  Durable makeup
✓  Mainstream coffee
✓  Macaron assortment

Nikon in hand, I rush down the stairs before the golden sun becomes nothing but a sliver of light.  Deep breath.  I continue out the door, ready to take on the world...of fashion blogging, that is.”

Thrilling, isn’t it?  Unfortunately, my life isn’t that cinematic, but I like think it’s close.

I am currently an undergrad studying Chemical Engineering (ChE) at a state university.  Most of my day is spent sobbing over textbooks, but I manage to squeeze in some time for relief.  This blog, Kitana’s Closet, is somewhat of a virtual escape from my day-to-day life of rigorous classes and research work.   It allows me to cultivate my creative-side and share my ideas with the world.

Kitana's Closet originally started out as a fashion blog, and this marvelous journey began when I was sixteen years old.  Through the years that made the last half of my high school career, Kitana's Closet enabled me to experience many things that I otherwise wouldn't have, had I not started blogging.  Most notable of all, which you can view in my blog's archives, was my first time ever attending New York Fashion Week in 2014 at the mere age of seventeen years old.

Upon the end of my Senior year of high school, I chose to discontinue my blog, not knowing if I would continue it in the future.  At that time in my life, there were much more important things that I needed to turn my attention to.  After falling off the face of the social-media planet, life became even more busy for me.  School was getting harder, and required much more time.  I accepted a research internship through my university with a graduate professor in the ChE program.  I started fully applying myself to my work and indulging in my studies.  After my first semester of being at a university, though, I learned that with good time management skills, you can accomplish anything.  In turn, I took a big step to re-establish Kitana's Closet in January of 2016.

So far, getting back into the swing of things has been kind of tough.  I was gone for a period of 6 months, and within that short amount of time, things certainly shifted.  Although the world around me changed in the time frame of me being gone, I changed as well.  As I've grown, I realized that I want this blog to be more than just me showing the world what's in my closet--I want to share with you the crevices of my life and my mind.  If you are reading this right now, first of all, thank you for making it this far into my bio, and thank you for supporting me simply by your presence.  As you follow along, I hope you enjoy learning more about me as I continue to learn more about myself.

Best,

Kitana Kaiphanliam
